HOCl Trust for Hygiene and Safer Water

Imagine the only water you have to give your child may KILL them.

Millions of parents face this horrific possibility every single day.

  • Globally, almost 2 billion people lack access to safe drinking water.
  • An estimated 2,000 children under the age of five die every day from causes linked to contaminated water.
  • At least 1.8 billion people use a drinking-water source contaminated with faeces.
  • In low- and middle-income countries, 38% of health care facilities such as lack a clean water source.
  • It is estimated that by 2025, half of the world’s population will be living in water-stressed areas.

Hypochlorous acid can change this.

The outcomes we are striving to achieve are:

  1. Be able to provide the means and knowledge by which human pathogens can be removed from drinking water wherever such contamination is a problem.
  2. To provide the means and knowledge by which low standards of hygiene in badly affected areas can be raised.
  3. Increase the public awareness of HOCl and its uses. (HOCl is the chemical symbol for Hypochlorous.)
  4. Provide the recipe for simple, cost effective manufacture on a domestic level.

We know we can help!

HOCl is a dilute aqueous chlorine solution with a mildly acidic pH ranging between 5 and 6.5 (skin neutral). It forms the basis for the HOCl Trust. HOCl is a NON-TOXIC sterilizing fluid. All human beings and animals use blood as their life support system. HOCl is generated within the white blood cells that form a major part of the immune system. It is triggered into action when the body is attacked by the threat of infection.*

An example in point...

1999, Lima Peru, water treatment trials for contaminated shanty town drinking water were conducted by Dr Carlton Evans, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore.

Findings: Water contaminated with 100,000,000 CFUs (Colony Forming Units) - bacteria per ml Typhus, Cholera & Salmonella were rendered safe by the addition of 2% HOCl (report – Dr. C. Evans). HOCl has never been fully commercially exploited even though it is the world’s most powerful non-toxic sanitiser. This is due to its historic reputation of inherent lack of a long stable shelf life. It is less appealing to large commercial organisations because it is a “Traditional Chemical” it cannot be patented.

The HOCl Trust for Hygiene & Safer Water Benefits...

  • The population of areas afflicted by contaminated drinking water.
  • The population of regions affected by inadequate hygiene standards such as densely populated emergency/disaster areas, schools, hospitals, shanty towns etc.
  • People living in areas affected by disasters such as the Haitian Earthquake (Cholera) or the Ebola outbreak.
  • Anyone wanting to increase their own level of domestic/personal hygiene may do so by using HOCL.

We will train local personnel or operatives nominated by other relevant charities/organisations in local production of HOCL. We need never stop – the more raised, the more people and regions we can help.

HOCl can benefit humanity at all levels - globally

In the future, we hope to provide:

  • An internationally available Rapid Response "On the spot" facility for decontamination of water and food wherever it is needed at short notice.
  • Volume production facilities and personnel training wherever emergency supplies of HOCl are needed thus facilitating increased hygiene and safer potable water.
  • Although HOCl is cheap to make, this will not be a cheap exercise. Manpower and education of local staff will be required. Over time it will be very cost-effective as it will save lives and healthcare expenses.
  • Any person donating will be entitled to the simple recipe for making HOCl for themselves for their own domestic use.
  • Sanitise contaminated laundry.
  • Fogging enclosed atmospheres to combat airborne viruses should they hit, such as bird flu, coronaviruses etc.

Mission #1

To help you reduce your reliance on toxic household disinfectants, reduce infection and speed healing at home.

You can use HOCl for many purposes including:

  • sterilising your baby's bottles
  • toys and washable nappies
  • your kitchen worktops
  • food preparation areas
  • cleaning little Timmy's cuts and abrasions after he comes off his scooter
  • speeding the healing of granny's leg ulcer
  • gargling to stop that sore throat you woke up with in its tracks.

Making HOCl at home saves you money and will help you eliminate the dangers posed to your family by many of your current household cleaning chemicals. When you donate to the HOCl Trust, we will send you instructions on how to make HOCl simply and safely at home.

Mission #2

To improve and even save the lives of others on a global scale through greater hygiene and safer drinking water.

Your donations will support our wider efforts to partner with existing charities and NGOs currently working in the Hygiene, Health, Medical and Water arenas (both Human and Animal). Our mission is to broaden their knowledge base so they will come to trust and promote the use of HOCl themselves. This in turn will go a long way towards wiping-out suffering caused by fatal waterborne pathogens such as cholera and typhoid in drinking water.
