Abstract:
This study tested the effects of a new stabilized hypochlorous acid solution on wound healing and infection control. It involved 20 healthy volunteers, each with a small wound created on their forearm. The wounds were treated with either hypochlorous acid or a control solution (sterile salt water). After 4 days, the hypochlorous acid solution helped wounds heal 14% faster and showed better bacterial control compared to the control solution. The solution also kept bacterial counts lower even after treatment, showing it helps both in healing and preventing infection in acute wounds.
