Abstract
Biofilms are thought to cause up to 80% of wound infections, making antiseptics and drainage necessary. Infected wounds can be hard to identify as having biofilms. This case study presents a non-healing burn wound, showing the link between biofilm, inflammation, and poor healing. The use and effectiveness of hypochlorous acid (HOCl) in treating an infected burn wound is described.
