Abstract
This study looked at whether hypochlorous acid is a good option for cleaning and treating ear infections in dogs. Twenty dogs with long-term ear infections in both ears took part. One ear of each dog was cleaned with hypochlorous acid, the other with salt water. For two weeks, the hypochlorous acid ear was cleaned twice daily with the same solution, and the other with a regular ear cleaner. Both ears got the same medicine. After two weeks, both ears improved. Hypochlorous acid worked as well as the other treatment, caused no harm, and helped clear up infections in some cases. It is a safe option.
